Jewellery Care Guide
Earrings

- Store safely when not wearing.
- Be gentle with your jewellery as the wire can be bent out of shape if too much force is used.
- We recommend taking off to shower or swim (water with no salt or chlorine is fine).
- Do not expose to harsh chemicals.
- It’s best to put your jewellery on after you have applied perfume, hairspray and skincare.
- If you have geodes or solar quartz, we recommend storing these out of direct sunlight and avoid getting them wet to prolong their colours as these are usually dyed to create or enhance the beautiful vibrant colours.
- Regularly clean your jewellery to keep in good condition.
- Do not wear to bed.
- Store safely when not wearing (do not throw into your handbag where it can get damaged).
Hoop earrings
- To open and close, gently pull sideways to retain the shape. If you pull wide open you will bend the metal out of shape. If this happens, you can send your earrings back to us for re-shaping.

Rings

- We recommend taking off to shower or swim. Water with no salt or chlorine is fine, however, due to the design and rough stones you would not want to wash your hair while wearing as the ring might catch on your hair.
- Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals - take off when cleaning.

- Be careful when handling fabrics to avoid snagging.

Beaded Bracelets

- Do not stretch to put on and take off. Roll the bracelet up over your hand instead. This puts less strain on the elastic meaning it will last you longer.

- Use warm water in a small bowl with a few drops of gentle dishwashing liquid.
- Place your jewellery in the mixture.
- Soak for up to a few hours.
- Use a soft-bristle toothbrush to gently scrub of any stuck-on dirt or grime.
- Dry with a soft cloth and polish with a polishing cloth.

What actually is gold filled?
- Love the colour gold
- Want to invest in jewellery that will last without the price tag of solid gold
- Are looking for affordable quality
- Have sensitive skin
Gold filled is a great option for jewellery, it's also sometimes called rolled gold. It's made up of two layers.
Layer one: Brass or copper core
Layer two: 5% solid gold outer layer
As you can see, solid gold is the best option available but it's quite expensive.
Gold filled is much more affordable while still being quality and is suitable for most gold lovers with sensitive skin.
Close behind is gold vermeil.
The key difference between the two are.
- Gold filled is pressure and heat bonded to the base metal while gold vermeil is electroplated to the base metal. The heat bonded layer of gold filled is a more durable and long-lasting than electroplated.
- Gold vermeil has a sterling silver core so it could be a better option if you are allergic to copper or brass.
In third place is gold plated. Its the cheapest and lowest quality.
Keep in mind that not all plated jewellery is equal though. Some can have a nice thick 2 micron layer while others might have just a 0.2 micron thin layer.
The base metals used also vary in quality from nickel to sterling silver which impacts if the gold plated jewellery will be suitable for sensitive skin or not.
